Delivery & Collection Guidelines

We want every delivery and collection to be as smooth and safe as possible. Please take a few minutes to read the following so you know what to expect, what’s required on site, and how to avoid extra charges or delays.

1. Operating Hours & Lead Times

Standard deliveries and collections: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–6:00 pm.

Weekend or out-of-hours slots may be available by prior arrangement (additional charges apply).

Typical lead time: 3–10 working days from payment and site confirmation. Rural areas or specialist units (e.g., side-opening) may take longer.

2. Delivery Methods

3. Vehicle Sizes & Clearance

Rigid HIAB – approx. 37ft long x 9ft wide.

Articulated HIAB – approx. 67ft long x 9ft wide.

Minimum clearance: Approx. 28ft height (for crane lift) & Approx. 12ft width for vehicle access.

Turning space and approach route must be suitable for HGV access.

4. Site Requirements

Your site must:

Have level, hard-standing access (no grass, soft ground, or muddy areas).

Be free from manholes, drains, and unstable surfaces.

Have no overhead obstructions (cables, branches, signage).

Allow safe setup of crane stabilisers for HIAB deliveries.

Public Road Offloads – If delivery/collection is on a public road, the customer must obtain the necessary permit from their local council before the scheduled date.

5. Site Access & Conditions – Information We May Need

To ensure a safe and efficient delivery or collection, please confirm the following before booking:

Approach Route – Does the delivery vehicle need to approach via a specific road or direction? If yes, please provide details.

Site Restrictions – Are there any restrictions such as overhanging trees, overhead cables, tight access points, or double yellow lines? If yes, please send photos of these.

Ground Conditions – Is the ground level, hard-standing, and suitable for heavy vehicle access? If not, please provide details.

Site-Specific RAMS – Do you require site-specific Risk Assessment & Method Statement (RAMS)? If yes, a site visit will need to be organised (chargeable). All hauliers carry generic RAMS by default.

Working Hours – Can the delivery/collection take place during normal hours (8am–6pm)? If no, please confirm the required times.

Timed works may incur an additional premium from the haulier.

6. Additional Site Access Information

Please tell us in advance if any of the following apply:

Underground services (cables, manholes, drains)

Overhead cables (type & height) or overhanging trees (branch height)

Need to lift over walls, fences, buildings, or other obstacles

Need to place container inside a building

Double stacking on site (requires twist locks/locating pins)

Restricted approach routes or tight access points

Failure to provide accurate site details may result in an aborted delivery/collection and associated charges.

7. Cancellations & Changes

Cancellation or changes within 72 working hours of delivery/collection will incur a charge.

Some suppliers may require 48 working hours — if in doubt, confirm when booking.

Charges for aborted deliveries/collections typically include the full delivery cost plus 50% of the return fee.

8. On-Site Time & Waiting Charges

Standard deliveries include up to 1 hour on site for offloading/collection.

Waiting time beyond this is charged at approx. £90 + VAT per hour or part thereof.

9. Weather & Site Condition Changes

High winds, flooding, snow, or unsafe ground may delay crane operations for safety reasons. In most cases we will reschedule at no extra cost.

If your site conditions change within 72 hours of delivery/collection (e.g., new obstacles, soft ground, access blocked), notify us immediately to avoid failed delivery charges.

10. Timed Deliveries

Timed deliveries can be arranged for an additional premium. However, traffic conditions, site delays, weather, or other unforeseen factors may still cause delays regardless of whether a timed slot is paid for.

11. Supervision & Acceptance

A responsible person must be on site to supervise placement and sign for delivery/collection.

Once signed for, the container’s position is deemed accepted and suitable.

Check containers are level, doors operate correctly, and any locks ordered are working before signing.

12. Liability & Third-Party Haulage

We use vetted third-party hauliers. In the unlikely event of damage or issues, claims must be reported immediately and will be passed to the haulier for resolution.

We are not liable for consequential loss arising from delivery/collection delays or inability to complete due to site conditions.

13. Container Condition

New One Trip Containers – Have made a single journey from the point of manufacture and may have light cosmetic marks from handling.

Used Containers – Guaranteed wind and watertight, but cosmetic condition varies with age and previous use.
